Welcome

… to the web site of the LONDON IRISH RIFLES ASSOCIATION.

The spring rain clouds certainly did not deter us from thoroughly enjoying our St Patrick’s Day parade at Connaught House. There was a good turn out from members of the Regimental Association complemented by the youthful enthusiasm of the lads and lasses of the Army Cadet Force with the Inspecting Officer this year being Colonel David Mogg. The post parade vibes were further enhanced by a spontaneous Trad. session by members of the Band in Mulqueen’s Bar.

The next date on the Association calendar is the AGM/Annual Lunch, which will take place at London Scottish House in Horseferry Road from 11am on Saturday 1 June.  The Annual General Meeting is a most important occasion with so much to review and discuss. Booking details for the Annual Lunch have now been sent out to all members and you can also find out more by contacting us directly.

Looking further afield, members of the Association will be undertaking a pilgrimage to Italy from 11 to 16 May 2024 to attend commemorations of the two battalions of the London Irish Rifles’ time when they were embattled in early 1944 at Castelforte, Anzio and Cassino and also to mark the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Rome. Exact dates and timings of all the programme of events will be added to this website and everyone will be welcome to join us in Italy at any time during the week.

And please do look out for the 2024 Emerald, which has been sent out to members in early April… as always, it is an excellent read.

Continue to keep in close contact with us, whether it by regularly visiting this website or joining the Regimental Association and coming along to one of our parade days.
